Densification of amorphous calcium phosphate using principles of the cold sintering process

Despite considerable interest in amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) bioceramics, it remains a challenge to sinter ACP high relative density. Here, for sintering of ACP, we used principles the so-called cold process. We investigated effect temperature (room temperature, 100, 120 and 150 °C) presence or absence transient liquid (20 wt. % water), while holding pressure applied at 500 MPa, on densification structure ACP. Relative density samples that were produced from dry starting powder room (the retained structure) already reached 76.3 (±2.1) %. Neither increased nor significantly affected bulk, true resulting values structure. Our findings indicate by applying moderate uniaxial pressure, can be sintered relatively temperature.
